Ortega Chili Burger

INGREDIENTS

  • (2 lbs) ground beef, 80/20 mix
  • Pit Barrel® Beef & Game Pit Rub
  • 1 can Ortega whole green chilis
  • 1 head butter lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Sliced cheese of your preference
  • *Hot Tip* Add your favorite burger toppings to customize this delicious burger!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Season ground beef with Pit Barrel® Beef & Game Pit Rub and form into patties.
  2. Light your Pit Barrel® using proper lighting instructions.
  3. Grill burgers until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  4. Add cheese a few degrees before burgers reach temperature and allow it to melt.
  5. Drain chilis and grill until lightly charred on both sides.
  6. Remove chilis, slice, and set aside.
  7. Separate lettuce leaves, rinse and dry.
  8. Slice tomato and other desired toppings.
  9. Layer lettuce, burger patty, cheese, sliced chilis, tomato, and toppings. Wrap with another lettuce leaf on top.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
