Oktoberfest Beer Brats

OKTOBERFEST SMOKED BEER BRATWURST

Celebrate Oktoberfest in style with these Smoked Oktoberfest Beer Bratwursts! Use your Pit Barrel and hanging accessories to elevate your Oktoberfest and WOW a crowd!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pack bratwurst
  • 1 pack hot dog or sausage buns
  • Pit Barrel All-Purpose Pit Rub
  • 2 cans/bottles Oktoberfest beer or German lager
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • Olive oil
  • Optional: sauerkraut, stone-ground mustard

DIRECTIONS

  1. Marinate brats in beer for 6+ hours.
  2. Remove from marinade, pat dry, and place in sausage/brat hanger.
  3. Light Pit Barrel® Cooker according to instructions.
  4. Hang brats and cook approx. 45 minutes until desired doneness.
  5. Slice onions and peppers, toss with olive oil and Pit Rub.
  6. Place veggies in basket hanger and cook approx. 45 minutes.
  7. Toast buns face-side down for about 10 minutes.
  8. Assemble brats with veggies and preferred toppings.
  9. Enjoy!
