OKTOBERFEST SMOKED BEER BRATWURST

INGREDIENTS
- 1 pack bratwurst
- 1 pack hot dog or sausage buns
- Pit Barrel All-Purpose Pit Rub
- 2 cans/bottles Oktoberfest beer or German lager
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- Olive oil
- Optional: sauerkraut, stone-ground mustard
DIRECTIONS
- Marinate brats in beer for 6+ hours.
- Remove from marinade, pat dry, and place in sausage/brat hanger.
- Light Pit Barrel® Cooker according to instructions.
- Hang brats and cook approx. 45 minutes until desired doneness.
- Slice onions and peppers, toss with olive oil and Pit Rub.
- Place veggies in basket hanger and cook approx. 45 minutes.
- Toast buns face-side down for about 10 minutes.
- Assemble brats with veggies and preferred toppings.
- Enjoy!
