Mummy Jalapeño Poppers

MUMMY JALAPEÑO POPPERS

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 Jalapeños (not too large so crescent strips wrap nicely)
  • Pillsbury Crescent Roll Dough
  • Candy Eyes
  • Your favorite hot sauce for dipping (optional)

CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE

  • 1 block softened cream cheese
  • 8 oz shredded pepper jack cheese
  • Pit Barrel® All-Purpose Pit Rub
  • 8 strips chopped cooked bacon (more if desired)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare cream cheese mixture.
  2. Light Pit Barrel® Cooker according to instructions.
  3. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise. Remove stem and seeds (leave membranes for extra heat).
  4. Fill each jalapeño with cream cheese mixture (do not overstuff).
  5. Unroll crescent dough and cut into 1-inch strips.
  6. Wrap 1–2 strips around each jalapeño.
  7. Spray baking rack with oil. Place wrapped jalapeños on grate.
  8. Cook for approx. 20–30 minutes.
  9. Remove once golden brown and crisp.
  10. Add two candy eyes on top.
  11. Serve with hot sauce for dipping.
