You've probably never thought of cooking Smoked Mac 'N Cheese, but this is seriously the BEST mac 'N cheese recipe ever! Quick, easy, cheesy and smoky!

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded cheese of choice (preferably unsmoked)
  • Bacon, fully cooked and cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

TURKEY

  1. Light your Pit Barrel® according to the instructions.
  2. Boil the macaroni according to package directions until slightly soft but not fully cooked, about 7 minutes.
  3. Whisk egg and milk in a bowl, add melted butter and cheese, stir until smooth.
  4. Add macaroni to cheese sauce and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Pour mixture into baking dish, top with more cheese if desired and season.
  6. Place dish on grill grate in the Pit Barrel® and secure lid.
  7. Note: If using a Hinged Grill Grate, add mac n’ cheese 45 minutes prior to ribs being done.
  8. After 35 minutes, sprinkle bacon bits on top.
  9. Cook additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
