Hot Honey Wings

HOT HONEY WINGS

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 lbs party wings
  • Pit Barrel® All-Purpose Pit Rub
  • Olive oil
  • Corn starch
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar

DIRECTIONS

WINGS

  1. Pat wings dry with paper towel.
  2. Add small amount of oil to lightly coat.
  3. Sprinkle corn starch until lightly coated.
  4. Season with Pit Barrel® All-Purpose Pit Rub.
  5. Light your Pit Barrel® according to instructions.
  6. Add wood chips for additional flavor.
  7. Place wings starting from outer edge toward center.
  8. Smoke 20 minutes, flip, then crack lid to crisp skin.
  9. Cook until internal temp reaches 165° (or 198°–202° for extra tender).
  10. Coat in hot honey sauce and serve.

HOT HONEY SAUCE

  1. Add honey to pot over stove.
  2. Add chili flakes and simmer 10–15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in apple cider vinegar.
  4. Coat wings after cooking.
